✓ Pros

More affordable than VG-10. Easier to sharpen. Better toughness. Still takes a sharp edge. Good for working knives.

✗ Cons

Edge retention not as good as VG-10. Less wear resistance. Not as widely available.

Grinding Notes

Grinds easily. Forgiving to work with. Doesn't require as much cooling as VG-10. Good for hand sanding.

Polishing Notes

Takes nice polish. Works well in San Mai construction. Slightly softer than VG-10 makes finishing easier.
