Working Notes

Cutting: Similar working properties to buffalo horn. Use sharp carbide tools. Avoid overheating which can cause warping. Sanding: Natural texture should be preserved for grip. Light sanding 220-400 grit. Wet sand to control dust.

Finishing Notes

Light oil brings out natural colors. Can be sealed or left more natural. Wax provides protection and sheen.

⚠️ Special Considerations

Heavy textural lines are a feature, not a flaw. May be pressure stabilized and sealed by some suppliers.
